The main focus here is to CHALLENGE YOURSELF.
You may be lifting light weights, but its YOUR BODY, YOUR GOAL. You may be running for 20 extra minutes than the guy beside you, but its YOUR BODY, YOUR GOAL.
Just don't give up. The day that you've decided to finally lose the excess weight, or gain more muscle, is the day that you should've realized that this is a LIFETIME decision. This means that you are only competing with YOURSELF.
But to stay in the competition, you gotta mentally CHALLENGE YOURSELF.
Some people like to compare their max with others, some enjoy writing in a journal, some love to add on the weights and push themselves harder, while some are content with completing a 20 minute run on the treadmill. We are all unique, and IMHO we have to adapt a routine fit for the individual, and work at improving it.
Just do what is honestly right for you. BUT don't tell me that you think overtraining is the way to go, don't tell me you believe that living on a cracker a day is logical, don't tell me that you're so jealous of your work-out buddy's progress that you give up. That's BS and you know it.
Determine what are your goals, what are your reasons and what are your excuses. Then rework your routine and tell me you can maintain it for life.
